Kindergarten Readiness Assessment

Here are the New York State Learning Standards for English Language Arts and Math.

This is a simplified version of some our early benchmarks for October of the Pre-Kindergarten year.

Pre-Kindergarten Evaluation October

1. I am toilet trained.
2. I can blow my own nose.
3. I can find and legibly print my own name.
4. I can identify and care for my own belongings.
5. I can understand and follow through on verbal directions.
6. I know my address and phone number.
7. I can cut a circle on the line.
8. I can snap, button, zip, tie.
9. I know the difference between letters and numbers, print and pictures.
10. I can identify, name, and match: square, circle, rectangle, diamond, triangle.
11. I can identify, name, and match: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, black, brown.
12. I can count objects to:
13. I can match the alphabet.
14. I can match the numbers 1-10.
15. I can identify A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z
16. I can identify 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12.
17. I understand big-little, hot-cold, wet-dry, open-closed, first-last, slow fast, hard-soft, top-middle-bottom, more-less, shorter-longer, first-last, same-different.
18. I understand under, behind (in back of), above, below, before (in front of), around, in, out.
19. I can match numbers with groups sets.
